Video Evidence - For A Cleaning Service?

A few years ago, my sister hired a company to clean the leaves out of their gutters.

Easy job, right?

You'd think. Unfortunately, the area she was living in at the time seemed to have a pattern of dodgy service professionals.

She wanted to make sure that the money she paid for the work - was actually done. So, she made a simple request and asked the company to take a photo of the gutters when they were done.

That's a super simple request, right? And after all - it's not like she was going to jump on a ladder and check it herself. That's why she was hiring a service in the first place!

To her dismay - the photos were never sent over. She reminded them that she'd be happy to pay the invoice once she saw that the work was done.

Here's the shocking part: The service company needed to come back and "Finish a few things" before they would take the photos. This is AFTER they said the work was complete and sent the invoice!

Would you be surprised if I told you it was the first, and last time she worked with them? Of course not, because you're a logical and reasonable person.

But how easy would it be - for a reputable, professional service - to take photos or videos of the work that was done? With the progress of technology, this task has become exponentially easier.

That's why we have implemented our video overview of each home we clean. As we work, we set up a phone (or two) and take time lapse videos of us hard at work.

This is great for two reasons:

1) We have video of what the space looked like before AND after.

2) With the hustle and bustle of moving, sometimes homeowners forget the condition of the home.

A visionary might look at a home, and admire the possibilities hiding behind the dirtiest layers of grime. While a self-proclaimed neat freak might look at a home and feel uneasy packing until they know that each and every surface has been deeply and thoroughly scrubbed and sanitized. And yet another "Pine-Sol" generation might not feel like a home is really clean until it smells clean.

Each and every home is different. A home that was cleaned regularly - no matter the age - will be much easier to clean than a home neglected for even a couple of years.
